Towering over

Daphne Guiness has dared to do the impossible. She was spotted last week in the event for Nars Cosmetics sporting the infamous spring 2010 Alexander McQueen alien shoes!

I love these shoes on the runway but, honestly Daphne at an event? She never fails to amaze as she also sported the Fall 2009 heel-less Nina Riccis. I am seriously astonished she didn't fall , or trip or have a concussion. Daphne, some footwear is best kept for runway models.

Wonder woman!

Heidi Klum does it again! She once again has shed her baby weight in no TIME! She showed off her gorgeous post baby bod this week as she journeyed to New York to join her fellow Victoria Secret models for their upcoming show.

Ms. Klum gave birth to a baby girl on Oct 9th. Meaning it took her only a month to lose her baby weight! Even though she claims that she still needs to lose another 20 pounds... I think she looks pretty damn good as she is!

"I don't exercise much-- I walk, I walk on the treadmill a little bit. I walk on the driveway. I'm very active with the children. When you have three children and two boys, they're very active. They want to do a lot of things. But you know when you breastfeed, when you eat right, you move around a little bit, that usually does the job."

I can't believe this is all it takes Heidi! there must be some sort of secret juice or something!

Serpent poison

This is a serious surprise, Brangelina's next venture will be to design a line of jewelry.. Yup, you read that correctly... jewelry! These designs will be for the company Asprey, and will be available in London, Tokyo, New York, Dubai and LA.

How did this co

me about? The idea arose was due to her daughter Shiloh. When Angelina Jolie was pregnant she received a gift of a ring in the shape of a serpent which she considered to be the protector of the family.

The whole line will feature the motif of a serpent as this was their inspiration. Prices start at $525 and all proceeds will go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. The charity is to help children who are victims of war or natural disaster get an education.

I think it will be interesting to see if this line actually sells. The designs are really interesting and I love that this is for a cause. They never fail to amaze me these two! They are on a constant conquest to better our world.

Here we go again!

Lindsay Lohan is at it again! It's not enough that her latest fashion venture with Ungaro TANKED with the critics and got horrible reviews. She is carrying on to dabble in the world of fashion claiming that her and jeweler Pascal Mouawad are "doing something with a friend who owns bebe."

Lindsay should stick to the acting gig, she is a gifted actress. So, to stick to your craft please. As for Pascal Mouawad, I wish you the best of luck, I hope this isn't going to be your kiss of death

Leighton Meester, all out!

Leighton Meester is seriously on the radar these days, working hard to show that she is a force to be reckoned with! She is working hard to publicize the much anticipated release of her upcoming album.

Her most recent endeavor is a spread for British GQ in which Leighton is photographed in a mixture of leather lingerie and heels. She looks amazing! Seriously shying away from the image of prim Blair Waldorf to racy, sexy Leighton.

Light as a feather

The feather trend has been prominent recently at most red carpet events. I think the most outstanding dress in this trend has to be the one worn by Blake lively at the NYC premiere of "Where the wild things are".

Blake can seriously do no wrong and she definitely has my vote for one of Hollywood's best dressed women. This is a trend that is hard not to over do, its risky and that is why I love it.

Paris Hilton and bridal?

Paris Hilton is really seeking to take over the world! She's designed a new line of bridal footwear. Her line currently consists of 4 pairs of shoes, and to be honest they are cute. It is really unclear why she is trying to inch into the world of bridal fashion.

The line ranges in the $100-200 price range. The shoes are I admit cute but they are nothing too special and with a lone of only four styles how much of a splash does she think she will make?

Armani to retire?

Since the designer fell ill with hypatitus he has been reorganizing his company, in order to lessen his workload. Armani has recently told reporters "I'm already organizing staff who will continue my work".

Giorgio Armani is currently in Russia lending his helping hand to support the country's falling fashion industry. However, although Armani is hinting at retirment, I can't help but wonder if he is waiting to leave on a high note. As others before him such as Valentino did. Armani is still at the top of the fashion heap but his company, as are many others, are at a loss this year.

The man is 75 and only human, I understand that he wants to retire soon, and I wish him all the happiness in the world! His contributions to the fashion world have been priceless...

I'm excited to see whats next for the Armani empire!

Nicole Richie launches Winter Kate

WWD is reporting that Nicole Richie is planning to launch a contemporary line, Winter Kate. The name comes from the middle names of her daughter Harlow. The line will be ranging from about $35 to $500, so pretty much something for everyone. The line I'm guessing will be a very Nicolesk style. A fact that I don't mind at all.

I will be first to say I love Nicole Richie, the transformation that she has undertook recently is amazing. I am really excited about the line as Nicole recently has been frequently on all the best dressed lists. Not too mention her other recent venture House of Harlow 1960 has been adorable and really successful. This should be a good one.

Hits stores early February

The Olsen's new venture

The girls venture to further expand their ever growing empire. The latest project, a junior line for JCPenny called Olsenboye. Solid effortt from JCPenny to try and overcome their financial losses and try and create an image of a stylish contemporary store.

The collection will range form $20-$50. A great price point for todays economy. The Olsen twins will never fail to impress me as they move to conquer every area possible to create their empire. The collection will make a limited time appearance online but will be available in stores in February.

Moschino Love

So, Moschino has their brand Moschino cheap and chic and although I love it, it is anything but cheap.

Moschino is planning to rename their line Moschino Jeans to Moschino Love. It will be a accessory line, the price point will be, I'm guessing, around the $150-500 mark. The line will include wallets, totes etc. The Moschino love line, "allows a younger aspirational customer to own a Moschino handbag at a more affordable price point".

Personally, I am all for it, I think it's a smart move to reach more customers and I can't wait to get the heart wallet!

Jean Paul Gaultier for target!

The rumors are true! Jean Paul Gaultier will be colaberating with target and designing a line for them. The designer is the third one in these series. The other two being Anna Sui and Alexander McQueen.

I am seriously excited to see what he does. It always amazes me what these designers can do when constrained to a budget.

The collection will be in stores on March 7th to April 11th

Red Alert!

As seen in most of the New York fashion week shows RED is the the it color this season, and I am ecstatic. It is such a statement color and a little bit of it goes a long way. Think about it a red peacoat, red heels, even just red lipstick can pretty much make ANY outfit.

This trend is echoed in Vogue's latest spread in their September issue. Inspired from its creative director, Grace Coddington, who a little red riding hood inspired shoot called "Into the Woods" with model Natalia Vodianova.

There are some great finds such as gorgeous affordable red heels I just saw in Zara and Steve Madden. As well as a cute red party dress in FCUK, and red peacoats are EVERYWHERE!

Escada files for bankruptcy!

The German fashion house has filed for bankruptcy in Munich after they failed to find sufficient banking from its investors. It is an international company with 180 shops and franchises in 60 countries! 

Escada is trying to stay afloat trying by asking its investors to cash in their loans at a reduced rate.. so far not really working! Over the 2007-2008 business year, the company has had losses of about 70.3 million euros.

The former Hugo-boss chief Bruno Saelzer has taken over as head of the company and has been unable to turn it around.  Pretty much since the death of it's co-founder, Swedish model Maragretha Ley, Escada has had a rough time. 

I for one hope they can find a way to get out of trouble, which I am sure they will. It would be a real loss if they didn't! Especially their very famous fragrance line which has been pretty much carrying the company as of late.

New trend of the season... over the knee-high boots. I am not too crazy about this trend as it can easy be done wrong! If you are gonna do it try and avoid a Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman look please!

However, this look can be worked to your advantage and can seriously make an outfit!

Wear them over jeans, be careful when wearing them with skirts though.

Marc Jacobs has launched his fall collection of handbags... I LOVE THEM.. 

The leather feels so smooth  and the shapes this season are gorgeous. I especially love the stardust theme he incorporated this year. He outdid himself for sure, compared to last year's collection (which was still good but this is just GORGEOUS). 

I know we're living in a time where no one is really gonna spend a lot on bags! So, what's great about these is they are classic so you really get a lot of milage out of them. A good investment that I for one cannot wait to make!

Safari/country!

New trend coming in this fall.... Safari and country blend!

A sneak of this trend can be seen in the Fall '09 shows of Chloe and Ralph Lauren. What's nice about this trend is there are a lot of neutral tones and beiges that are flattering to ALL skin tones. To complement the style use a nice neutral pink lip and natural make ups tones, so no dramatic colors.

Most of these styles are blanket coats with fabrics that freely wander around so during the cold weather you'll be all bundled up and looking great!

SO, Katie Holmes sets out on yet ANOTHER venture! I don't understand what she's trying to prove honestly.. She has been trying to land big roles, dance in 'So you think you can dance", sing and now she's designing... I mean I guess you gotta respect the girl for trying, living in Tom Cruise's shadow can't be easy...

Anyway, her and her stylist Jeanne Yang will be working on a line of which no pictures have yet  leaked. All the clues we have as to what this line will be like are the outfits Katie Holmes has been wearing these days which are all of her own design, such as the one in this picture.

Furthermore, there are now rumors that Ms. Holmes er, Cruise will also be designing a high-end kiddie line...

Well, I for one am interested to see what the woman comes up with but am not holding my breath. The line will be out this fall and will probably be quite expensive..

Comme De Garcons and CONVERSE

Converse tries to make their products even MORE edgy (if thats possible). Right after teaming up with Missoni Converse does not fail to impress when announcing their next endeavour.. Converse is teaming up with the french avant- garde fashion label Comme De Garcons, PLAY line. Rei Kawakubo from Comme De Garcons is to design these sneakers, drawing inspiration from converse's rich history to create these new looks. So expect things such as military stlyle and 1950s look.

The sneakers will have the heart logo of the PLAY line instead of the regular converse logo. I really like these, even though I'm not really a sneakers person but this new twist on the regular converse that we have all come to love is definitely at least worth a look at.
These sneakers will be sold for about $100, available at Comme De Garcons boutiques that carry the PLAY line.

They are great for someone looking for an up to date unique look. Karishma describes the line as, "an amalgamation of western influences with an Indian twist to each and every creation."
