Brunch in NYC

Felt like I had to share this find! Went to brunch with a girlfriend this weekend and it was fabulous. Went to Prune restaurant in NYC's Lower East Side. The place is tiny, has a really cute french, family vibe to it.

Definitely worth a visit. Bloody Mary's to die for!

Versace Resort 2011

Sixties cutie are the words that came to my mind when I first saw this collection. Donatella gives us exactly what a resort collection should be: fun! The strap-up heels gave an unexpected edgier vibe to the clothes and gave that extra sex appeal. I definitely give her props, I have never seen that style of heel used without looking slightly trampy and cheap until this show.

My personal favorite are of course the great many shift dresses, but the black gown (picture 4) really stole my heart.. The dress is sexy while still being strong, it makes a statement, definitely. Another great show Donatella!

Givenchy Couture shows cancelled!

WWD is reporting that Givenchy is no longer going to be doing couture shows! Instead, the designer Riccardo Tisci will be showing his couture creations in private appointments which are said to be costing 35% more than a show. So, it's clearly not a money issue!

Tisci wants to make sure that " People can really experience the couture moment:see it, touch it." The clients that usually purchase Givenchy's couture pieces are never present at the runway shows due to security reasons so this will be a great way to get around that. I just hope we still see pictures!

Another challenge that Tisci is to be taking is that he will not be using any black in his next show. Good luck to Tisci as we all know is very fond of black! I am excited to see what he will come up with!

New Designer Obsession

I am simply speechless! Dion Lee is a 24 year old AUssie designer. His designs are already a HUGE hit in Australia., he recently won the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Designer award. There is a definite ease to his clothing. The designer likes to explore new materials and try and incorporate it into his garments. He recently used glass pharmaceutical bottles in his garments!

I am just absolutely in love with the prints, there is definitely an Alexander McQueen vibe to them. A characteristic of this designer is the futuristic feel there is in his garments. The cut-outs that are done in his garments are great as they give that unique edgy vibe.

I definitely wanna buy a few pieces! They come with a slightly expensive price tag tho! But how amazing would that white print dress look with some killer heels? Or that great print skirt?
UGH I just LOVE IT ALL!

Rachel Zoe to launch a fashion line

The time has finally come ladies and gents! Rachel Zoe has confirmed that she is going to launch a fashion line. The stylist already has an accessories line done for QVC and will be expanding into clothing. The line will be upscale sold in boutiques and stores such as Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom.

The line will have her signature looks such as fake-fur pieces and Halston-esque dresses. No word on a launch date as she is still in the midst of hiring a design team. All power to her she is really leaving her mark in the fashion realm. I just hope she doesn't get too stressed out, girl has got a hell of a lot on her plate!

Model of the moment

Born to an Africa-American father and a Dominican-American mother, Sissilee Lopez is quickly conquering the modeling world! Sissille is signed with IMG models. She has walked for most of the big names in fashion including Lanvin, Jean Paul Gauitier, Karl Lagerfeld, Hermes, Naeem Khan, D&G and Fendi to name a few! She has also appeared in Vogue, Allure, Marie Claire and Harper's Bazaar. If that's not enough in 2008 and 2009 Sissilee appeared in the Victoria Secret show!

There is no stopping this girl! Watch out for her!

Ralph Lauren to sell Polo shares

Don't freak out people the 70-year-old owner of the empire will not being giving up the reigns to the kingdom! Ralph Lauren is said to be selling up to 10 million shares of Polo, amounting to $870 million dollars! (not bad at all eh?)

Ralph will still be the majority shareholder securing the position for his son, David Lauren to take over as leader after his father's retirement. Wonder who will take on the designing?

Mark Fast for Topshop

Here is a little sneak peak at the Mark Fast for Topshop ladies! I am not sure if I can pull off the kind of moth-eaten look, but it's great for those of you embracing the grunge look. A nice look also when worn on top of a bikini on the beach. Whatever your style, I'm sure you'll agree these pieces are hot!

Emilio Pucci resort

Peter Dunas definitely hit a home run with this one! This is Dunas' second collection for the house, he started in October for the fall collection. He took over after the great Matthew Williamson and he is doing a great job!

The collection obviously featured the characteristic Pucci prints. There was a definite seventies vibe reflected in the great three piece suits matched with high waisted belts and neck scarfs. Paired with huge seventies shades just in case you didn't guess the decade from the clothes! Dunas is definitely bringing back the sex appeal o the label with great cut-out and micro-mini pieces.

BEST dressed at Tony's

These ladies looked absolutely stunning at the Tony awards last night! Catherine Zeta-Jones bagged a Tony for her performace in A Little Late Night Music. To add onto that she looked unreal! Scarlett Johansson dazzled in Elie Saab, I love the rocker edge that the dress has. The neckline is exquisite, the new take on the green snake like embroidery is great!

Last but not least Paula Abdul wore Tony Ward. Who is a lebanese designer that launched his label in 1995, he had previously worked with Karl Lagerfeld and Gianfranco Ferre. He is known for his amazing workmanship. Paula looked amazing in that great nude color mermaid couture gown.

Tory Burch Resort 2011

One word comes to mind: CUTE! The designer was inspired as we can see by her trip to Rajasthan, India. What the designer took away from the trip: prints, prints and more prints. The collection is extremely wearable, the ethnic vibe will definitely translate into another hit fort he designer.

This season the collections have been very dress heavy, Tory goes another way and presents a whole lotta separates, a move which will sure fire pay off! Tory Burch is expanding her empire with a major Asian expansion, including a store opening in Seoul very soon!
