Juicy Couture ladies exit

They have been bringing you the velour tracksuit for the past 8 years. Founders of the Juicy Couture brand, Gela Nash- Taylor and Pamela Skaist- Levy are to step down from the company. The brand is suffering a hit in sales but so is everyone. The duo are said to stick around as creative consultants.

Gela claims that the duo are off to pursue further opportunities, stating that "We're super-creative girls. We want to bust out and do everything"

Planet Chanel

The inspiration for this line came to Karl Lagerfeld in "an electronic flash in my head at five o'clock one morning. Silver and pastel," he says. The line was indeed very different form what Mr.Lagerfeld usually sends down the runway. He agrees as he stated, "It's the first time in my whole career I've done a collection without black or navy. There's not one gold button."

The collection was a blend of romantic, and space age. The silver booties and heart, bow shaped hair complemented this. I can't help but see Gaga's influence on the world of fashion as this was a turn really unexpected for Lagerfeld! Gaga's certainly making her mark!

Romance in Spring

Elie Saab held his own last week in Paris with his 2010 couture show. The line had a very romantic, soft, delicate feel to it. This was a great move on Saab's part as it showed a great variety in his talents. The dresses were consistent, he was definitely pushing 4 types of silhouettes.

All together the line was a great display of his talents and a great breath of fresh air.

Cyber garden of eden

I was really surprised at the latest Valentino Couture 2010 show this past week. The two designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Paolo Piccioli are really taking the brand in a new direction.
This collection was very avatar inspired everywhere from the hair, the make up and the clothes. The avatar theme was combined with a garden of eden, romantic, chiffon, pastel presence.

I didn't really see much cohesion in the line, it was very disjointed. The color pallette was consistent with one piece paying tribute to Valentino red. However, the message received from this show is that Valentino is pushing to attract a new customer base.

Pleasant Surprise

THis was a BREATHE of fresh air. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this dress. Worn by none other than Elisabetta Canalis. I knew this woman was a force to be reckoned with, I mean she snagged Mr.Clooney. Of course, not only did she manage that she has to of course have AMAZING style to accompany that!

This dress is so gorgeous that I almost overlook Ms.Canalis' arm candy.. almost!

This years golden globes by fat best dressed goes to Ms. Canalis.. Not that she didn't have enough already!

Mystic Purple

I LOVED this dress! I mean Sandra Bullock always looks fabulous! Seriously, I have not seen her on any worst dressed lists in a really long time! this woman has style and this occasion was no exception!

I love the color and the daring transparency! This dress is straight from Bottega Veneta's 2010 spring collection.. you can never go wrong with Bottega Veneta!

Gorgeous!
